It comes wrapped in foil as an attractive cube or block and unwrapping reveals a dark cream coloured paste that is speckled with the deep blue-grey pits of the peneciium roqeforti mould. The strength is mid range for blue cheese and tastes savoury, spicy and a touch sweet. The texture is firm to crumbly with a sticky face, which is easy to cut and then becomes creamy when eaten.
